General Guarantees and Rights
For all tenants and leaseholders we also offer the following guarantees. As your landlord we will:
Maintain your home in good repair and fully meet our legal duties;
Continue to invest in improving your home and local environment;
Respect your right to occupy your home peacefully, free from unnecessary interference from us;
Ensure that our staff and contractors treat you with courtesy when they visit your home;
Endeavour to move you to a suitable home if your needs and circumstances change;
Allow you to share your home with another person provided certain conditions are met;
Only end your tenancy if you have not kept to its conditions when we have the proper authority of the courts.
Your rights
As a tenant you have the right to:
Expect the Association to keep confidential any information we have about you or your family;
Inspect your file or computer records;
Carry out improvements, with our permission, and to be compensated for certain improvements when you leave the property;
Take in lodgers with our permission;
Use our complaints procedure if you are unhappy with a service we provide or if you want to appeal against a decision that we have made;
Claim compensation when our mistakes cause you unnecessary suffering or loss;
Receive compensation when certain repairs are not carried out quickly enough.
