Furnival Housing is a development of 54 flats and six shared houses in Slough providing short term accommodation for a wide range of people. The accommodation is backed up by a range of housing services including our own team of trades staff who provide a round the clock maintenance service and a housing officer on site twice a week.
Furnival Housing Co-operative was formed in 1980. The original scheme was built with the support of Housing Corporation loans and consisted of a number of mixed units catering for a wide range of people mainly in need of short term accomodation.
In 2005 Furnival Housing Co-operative changed its name to Furnival Housing Limited and became a subsidiary of the Housing Solutions Group. Housing Solutions invested £1.4 million into an extensive refurbishment programme at the site.
There are 54 one bedroom flats and six, four bedroom shared houses set in communal grounds. All the flats are self contained with a private kitchen and bathroom.
The shared houses have four bedrooms and access to a shared kitchen, lounge and two bathrooms.
Shared House - Weekly rent in a shared house is currently £75.26 per week. This includes all utility bills. It does not include telephone connection / rental or a TV licence.
One bed flat (large) - Weekly rent in a large one bed flat is currently £74.17 per week. This includes all utility bills. It does not include telephone connection / rental or a TV licence.
One bed flat (small) - Weekly rent for a small one bed flat is currently £64.32 per week. This does not include utility bills, telephone connection/rental or a TV licence.
It may be possible to pay all or some of your rent by claiming Housing Benefit from your local council.
Anyone who has a local connection with Slough (e.g. lives or works in Slough, or has family living in Slough) and is in need of affordable accomodation can apply to live at Furnival.
Applications from all sections of the community are welcomed but due to the nature of the shared living arrangements in the houses applications from families cannot be considered.
All applicants will be invited to attend an interview with our Allocations Team where they will be considered for a place at Furnival. All interviews take place in the evening.
If an applicant is successful they will be offered a place in a shared house. Once they have moved in they will automatically go on a waiting list for a move to a flat when one becomes available, subject to meeting tenancy conditions.
