Project Care is a major regeneration programme across Buckinghamshire, which is designed to improve the quality of accommodation for elderly people and people with learning disabilities, as well as conforming to future legislation on care standards.
Under Project Care, Housing Solutions has purchased 13 care homes for the elderly and 10 care homes for people with learning disabilities, as well as three former school sites. Over the next five years we expect to invest £50 million in redeveloping the sites to provide new care homes for the elderly, as well as new self contained flats and shared houses for people with learning disabilities, alongside new affordable housing.
Housing Solutions, is redeveloping the sites in partnership with The Fremantle Trust, a registered charity which specialises in providing care for elderly people and people with learning disabilities and Buckinghamshire County Council, which is the commissioning authority and will take half the beds developed for elderly people and all the accommodation for people with learning disabilities.
