Clara Court is the first care home to be built by Housing Solutions. It was built in partnership with the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead for local residents.
It has been designed to offer the highest standards of accommodation, facilities and care within an intimate, homely environment. It offers accommodation in 76 spacious en suite bedrooms, all much bigger than the current standards for care homes. Built in five separate wings it provides residents with a cosy environment rather than the feeling of living in a large care home.
Each wing has its own communal lounge and dining area. From every wing there is level access to outside space, either to a garden or patio from the ground floor or to balconies from the two upper floors. This gives residents far greater freedom to enjoy fresh air and outside space when they wish. The care home also has a hairdresser’s and a medical treatment room. There is an extensive kitchen. All meals are freshly prepared on site, which means that the kitchen can cater for a wide variety of dietary needs.
The design of Clara Court will be the template for eight other care homes the Group is building across Buckinghamshire as part of Project Care.
Clara Court was completed in Autumn 2006. It was built at a cost of £5 million on the site of a former residential care home. Care UK – one of the UK’s most experienced specialists in care services - provide care and support for residents living at Clara Court.
